    Has an upright, pyramidal form that is quite narrow while young.

    Becomes broader with age. Excellent avenue and street tree.

    Yellow autumn leaves. Holds some brown leaves through winter, but less than Carpinus betulus.

    Very hardy. Yellow-green catkins in early to mid-spring are a good source of pollen for bees.
