Melicytus Ramiflorus (common name Māhoe) is a common small tree with a knobbly pale trunk and thin light green toothed leaves.

Scented flowers appear in late spring and are yellow and small, followed by blueberries in late summer which are much loved by native birds such as the Kereru, and Tui.
